Hada Labo Shirojyun Milk and Lotion Review

Hi, everyone

Hope u all have great weekend : ) I'm glad that I have some peaceful weekend this time.

Actually I hesitated whether I should publish this article or not. This draft has been waiting for months in my drive. Oh, I kinda halfhearted making review this time about these items >.< But I can’t help to let u know how is my reality with this highly raved line. There are Rohto’s products that I like, there are countless repurchase of rohto eyedrops in my family since I was child. I used to repurchase Rohto Acnes Facial wash and I like their Skin Aqua Sunscreens. But for this time, I may have different opinion regarding Hada Labo Whitening Line. Keep reading to know.

Some months ago, I walked in Hypermart and found this kit :
Hada Labo Shirojyun Starter Pack consists of:
- Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening Face Wash 20 gr
- Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening Lotion 20 ml
- Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening Milk 20 ml

Unboxing

I did not hesitate to put it in my shopping basket because it’s really cheap, maybe around IDR 19k or 20k. I don’t quite remember. FYI, I’d finished 1 full size tube of Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening Face Wash some month ago and the product worked just fine for me. So I wanted to try the other products in this line as well. Lucky I got my hand to this miniature size so if it’s not working for me then I won’t have too much to waste.

Facial wash mini version

When it comes to safety, what could u trust more than drugstore brand, moreover pharmacy brand which also produces drugs/ medicine. Well Rohto is quite well known of its eyedrops products. This is the version of Hada Labo that sold in Indonesia. I heard it’s different than version that sold in Japan and other countries. Well, I don’t know, I never have the foreign version.

This is my second tube of the facial wash. I ever bought  the facial wash in full tube like I have mentioned before. First time use it, I experience some adjustment with the facial wash, something like little unpleasant feeling on my skin, but after several use, my skin seemed to adapt.
In this skincare line the term ‘lotion’ means toner and ‘milk' refers to moisturizer in form of lotion. Many Japanese skincare use the same terms like this one.

1. Hada Labo Whitening Lotion

2. Hada Labo Whitening Milk

Info and Ingredients List on the back sticker on the bottle

Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening Lotion and Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening Milk, in both bottle written these info and claims:
- Perfect X Simple
- With High Purity Arbutin + Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid
- For Bright Clear and Supple Skin
- Fragrance Free and Colorant Free

Both of them are water based with no presence of mineral oil and it’s derivatives that could trigger pimples on me. With the absence of fragrance and colorant, it makes me think that these products are worth to try. When most of Supermarket skincare use fragrance and colorant, this line is quite stand-up by not using those substances.
I must say that these products took time to absorb into my skin. My skin is oily- combination in case u have not read my profile. For Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening Lotion, I have to wait about 3 minutes until it sunk into my skin. And For Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening Milk, I have to give about 3 minutes.

First I used them at night before going to bed.
Facial Wash -- > Lotion (Toner) -- > Milk (Lotion Moisturizer)

I applied the lotion by dispensing it on my palm and then massage it to my face. If u ask me how it feels like. I was like pouring some water/ solution to my face since it has no specific reaction on my skin. Yes, no tingling, minty, refreshing, noticeable smell or any sensation u usually experience from common toner. It’s non perfumed so I only smell hint of chemical scent in it.
The milk has the same hint of smell as the lotion.

When I woke up in the morning I noticed slightly brightening effect on my face. So this product worked.
My skin used to be sensitive and it just recovered from acne prone mode. And I had problem with dehydrated skin. My skin is dry on the outside but oily. So  I bought this product, wishing for its hydrating properties to maintain my moisture balance.

Too bad I don’t know the lotion or the milk that sometimes tend to clog my pores. And The lotion and the milk are just too rich for my liking. Sometimes when my skin at the oily mode, they felt so greasy on my skin. And also I don’t think I could use them when my skin is at sensitive mode. I don’t know what’s wrong but I definitely sure it’s not a product for sensitive and acne prone skin.
My mother tried it too, originally she has normal skin. She rarely complaint about skincare harshness but this time she said she did not like it. She felt stickiness and unpleasant feeling on her skin.
When I used those products at daytime, my face became so oily and greasy. Yeah, maybe it”s just way too rich for my skin.

I tried to use them for about 1 week before gave up. So, those little bottles ended up as body lotion, it’s moisturizing btw, ha ha… I don’t know how else I would use it which is not involved my face area >.<

So among three, I can only use the facial wash. I may not repurchase the others two.
I  know there are a lot of people who like this line. Well, I think everyone has different skin. It may work for many girls out there but not for me. Too bad since there are another Rohto's products that worked for me but not these.

Pros :
- Moisturizing
- Affordable
- available locally in where I live, many dpt. Store sells it
- no colorant, no fragrance
- help to brighten skin in early usages

Cons :
- tend to clog my pores sometimes
- does not suit sensitive and acne prone skin
- too greasy for my skin
- sticky

So, what do u think, girls? Have u tried it too? Please share ur opinion in here : )
Thank U for reading n have a nice day, lovelies

If you're by any means interested in importing, you might wanna try Gluta-C's effective skin whitening lotion in the Philippines to give you that fair skin you want. It's kojic acid based and as SPF 20 so you could even go outside after applying it.
