Holiday is on the way, cakes are set, plans has been made. I hope Idul Fitri this year will be so much fun. And I want to take my time to provide u something to read before I get too busy with my ‘Lebaran’ vacation. This time is another short review from me about bb cream.

                Last Saturday, I went to MDS Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya to look for some lip concealer. Guess what? I bumped into Nature Republic counter. Hey, I did not know before that Nature Republic had opened their store in Surabaya. The SA seemed nervous while she asked me to try Nature Republic Aloe Soothing Gel. I supposed she was still a trainee.

                I bought the Aloe Vera Soothing Gel and Mango Bebe Lip Concealer. And I got 3 samples of Nature Republic Snail 50 BB Cream SPF 30. Here are the snap snap of the items I bought.

                Lately I often heard about the snail thing in cosmetics, snail mask, snail cream, bb cream. The ingredient from snail claimed to have a lot of advantages for our skin. It could help to improve wrinkles, to moisture the skin, and has soothing property.

            The BB Cream claims to be free from paraben, alcohol, artificial colouring, mineral oil, benzophenone and GMO. It has snail mucus 50%, whitening, anti wrinkle, UV protection, protective moisturizing film, lustrous, and natural blemish cover. The information on the sachet said "With Callus Culture Medium (MD502)".

                I only got the sample sachets so I can’t provide u the ingredient list. I’ve searched google for many times but seems that there are not much article I could find about this bb cream. I asked the SA about the price of full size bottle and it was around Rp. 300.000 (about $40).

                This BB Cream only has 2 shade and I got shade no. 1. And the shade is a bit lighter than my skin tone. My skin tone is not fair. I compared it to my Etude Precious Mineral Bright Fit W24 Honey Beige and this snail bb cream is lighter. I’m not MAC user and I can’t describe correctly about the shade of this bb cream, but I’m kinda sure that it’s way too light for those whose skin darker than MAC NC 25. However, I tried to apply a little amount of it to my face, just a little coz I was afraid it would be too white. The finish is semi matte I guessed and I like it. The formula is lightweight and easy to blend.

                Although the shade is lighter than my actual skin tone but I still could tolerate it. I just have to dab powder that has darker shade than this bb cream. 1 sachet can go for 3 times usage in my case. I applied on my entire face and my upper neck.

The coverage tended to be in medium level. It could cover my redness and some of blemishes but it could not fully cover big pores around T-Zone. This cream dried and settled quickly on my skin so I had to immediately spread it after dispensing it from the sachet. The formula is quite moisturizing but not too rich. For my oily skin, its just the exact level of moisture I need. My mother has dry skin and she found it moisturizing too. I guess this bb cream can suit best dry, normal, and combination skin. As for super oily skin, u may need more oil control, maybe u can trick it by putting primer first and set it with finishing loose powder.

                Dear, my readers, my apology that I can’t provide u with my own swatch pics coz I can’t catch the right shade color with my lowres web camera. I haven't got my self  any decent camera right now.

                I felt slightly cooling sensation on my skin when I applied it, my mother who also tried this product said the same. This product has better oil control compared to my Etude Bright Fit. When wearing it, my face did not as much oily as when I used Etude Bright Fit, I blotted less. What’s more impressive is that this snail bb cream can stay nice up to 8 hours on skin, I’ve proved it.

                The formula is water resistant (sweat resistant) so it wouldn’t look so bad when u’re sweating. I’d tried to splash my face with water and the bb cream was still on. The staying power is good and it also did not oxidize on me. I could tell this because I was wearing it from 07.30 morning until 16.00 evening and my complexion was still fine, just the coverage was reduced because sweating and blotting. And it did not transfer much to my clothes and cell phone (while using it) compared to Etude Bright Fit (which easily transferred).
                  Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the quality of this BB Cream and I'm interested to buy the full size someday when my BB cream runs out, off course with the different shade. I'll pick shade no.2 on my next purchase.

Update :

August 20, I went to Lamongan Beach (WBL). It was really hot and shiny sunlight there. I'd been out walking under the sun for 4,5 hours (10.00 - 14.30) wearing this bb cream and I sweated a lot (like sweat bathing all over me). In my past, I often experienced darkening and or sunburn because of event like this. But yesterday is different, I check my face after arrived at home at 17.00 and my face was ok, bb cream was still on (the coverage got reduced but still on). After I cleaned my face I noticed no darkening, no redness/sunburn and my skin tone just fine like normal. This bb cream only got SPF 30 but still managed to protect my skin from the sun. This is great coz I've tried some sunblock and face product with the same SPF and this one is better in cooling down my skin under the heat of the sun and protecting from UV rays.
