Moisturizer Review : Sariayu Pelembap Jeruk Normal Berminyak Relaxing Aromatic

Hello, Dear readers

I bought this product around November 2012, and I just finished writing the review now. Seems like it's been months this draft has been sitting on my file. Sariayu is from Martha Tilaar, one of biggest major local Indonesian brands. Other than Sariayu, Martha Tilaar is being 'mother brand' for many labels such as Biokos and PAC.

Sometimes I do random additional shopping,  and what I buy usually cheap priced products which I never tried before. Just to wish that one of them will suit me to be my back up product when I run out money to buy my main regimen. And here once again I tripped on this one. Wanna know why? Keep reading :)

I've given my bottle to my neighbour and I forgot to take the picture >.<
Luckily I've written down the product info on the back of the bottle before I let it go.

See what slipped out from me ? Yes, I forgot to check the ingredients list before I bought. Moreover, I read the ingredients list after I tried it on my face more than 1 time.

Texture : White lotion, a bit runny, lightweight, easy to absorbed.

First time I used it, I noticed a strong aromatic smell of the lotion. It supposed to be kind of pleasant smell, my mother like it, but it's too overwhelming for my taste.
I felt a bit unpleasant feeling on my skin. Seemed that the formula triggered my sebum glands. I kept using it for 3 days before I took a look on the ingredients list. Pretty surprised to know there is mineral oil on the second top. But I still used it anyway for about a week, hoping I could tolerate it. But as usual when my sensitivity awakened, tiny zits started to appear here and there. And sometimes I got little stinging on my skin when I was under the sun. So I gave it up to my neighbor who is a Sariayu fan.

The oil control is not good I guess. Somehow, it increased the oil production on my face a little. I saw my face became more greasy in the midday.

Pros :
- Cheap and available locally here in Indonesia
- Aromatic scent
- Lightweight
- Contains natural ingredients
- moisturizing

Cons :
- Contains mineral oil in top second, if u're allergic to this ingredient, stay away from it
- Clogged my pores
- Doesn't suit sensitive and acne prone skin
- Fragranced, strong smell
- Contains many type of preservatives, alcohol, oxybenzone (I'm not fan of it)

Repurchase? No. Fortunately this one is cheap so it did not make me cry to loose it.

I doesn't mean to judge most of indonesian local skincare product as some harsh one. But I noticed most of local brands likely to be huge fan of mineral oil, alcohol and strong perfume in their formula. If I'm not mistaken, all of Sariayu Milk Cleansers use mineral oil, so do Viva's, Red-A's, La Tulipe's, Pixy's, and Ristra's, and others I haven't mentioned.
I wish Indonesian local products are willing to improve their formula by avoiding harsh chemical that will cause problem especially for sensitive skin and acne prone. I wish they avoid mineral oil, strong fragrance and alcohol, so that their products can be more gentle on skin.

One of main reasons I like to use Korean cleanser and skincare are because they tend to be free of mineral oil (one ingredient I'm allergic to), unlike many of Indonesian Local brands.

What's ur favourite moisturizer? Can u suggest me something? Let me know what do u think, please leave comment :)
Thank u for visiting my blog, have a nice day, lovelies :)
